Sweet Plugin!
WordPress handles security differently from Joomla! which means all of our posts and pages were publicly viewable from the time I migrated to WordPress until now. I found a plugin that requires you to log in before you can even see the home page! That’s even better than Joomla!’s solution in my opinion. I had looked at all of the built-in options and found that marking a post as “Private” really wasn’t a good solution since all of the pages were still visible. I also found that an unauthenticated user browsing to the home page could still see a list of posts. I found some snippets of code that I could edit into each and every page but that seemed impractical, tedious, and extremely time consuming given the number of pages at work behind the scenes within WordPress. Thanks to Google, the WordPress community, and the Open Source mind set, we now have a family site that requires you to log in before you ca壯陽藥

Yet Another Server Upgrade… With More To Come
I just finished migrating the entire family web site from the Joomla 1.5.x platform over to the WordPress platform. I have been playing with the WordPress software for quite some time now and find it has features and benefits that everyone should be able to make use of. If you are a family member and you are logged in, you should be able to add a post – including pictures – if you so desire. I’m working on a new shared family calendar but I don’t have that going just yet. I’ll keep you posted.
Also coming down the line is a migration from the existing single-core, Fedora 13 64-bit server to a “new” dual-core, Fedora 14 64-bit server. I hope to have that migration completed by the end of this week.

Server Upgrade
Hello all!
I thought you might like to know that I have finished an upgrade to the server and have finished migrating the web site software (Joomla!) from the older version to the new stable version. Our family web site is now running ona 64 bit serverwith Fedora 13 Linux; hopefully this will translate into a faster web site and fewer errors when you try to add or edit an article. Do let me know if you have any trouble with the upgraded site!

New Nursery Theme
As of today, Monica has arrived at the 30 week mark leaving us just 10 more weeks until she is at term. Monica has been frequenting Craig’s List and has gotten some great deals on toys and, more recently, a bedding set. With our purchase of the bedding set, our theme for the nursery has changed from nautical to transportation.
The new bedding set has bright, primary colors and pictures of trains, boats, airplanes, and cars on it. We were going to go with a blue-and-white color scheme for paint and fabrics, but this purchase opens the door to a much larger color palatte. Ev壯陽藥
en though the theme is different, all of the nautical stuff we already have should fit right in since the boats and ships fit into the transportation theme. Here’s a picture of the quilt that came with the bedding set to help you visualize the new theme:

Travel System
Monica has had several dreams in which, when the baby arrives, we don’t have a car seat for him so he has to ride home rolling around on the floor of the car. Hopefully that dream will be a thing of the past after today.
Thanks to (soon to be Grandmother) Nina, we now have a great little travel system; it’s a combination stroller, carrier, and car seat. With the 30-week mark fast approaching, Monica, her mother, and her sister all went shopping this afternoon for various things including baby… stuff. Monica found a couple of cute gowns that fit the new nursery theme (I’ll have a picture of the new theme for you soon) as well as some little mittens to keep Offspring from scratching himself. The big purchase, though, was the Chicco travel system Monica and I wanted. The carrier is multi-purpose; the carrier locks into a base to serve as a car seat and it locks into a stroller for all those trips to the Zoo we’ll be making. Here’s a picture for everyone. It’s a… (Spoiler Alert!)
This is the appointment we’ve been anticipating since that stick showed two pink lines on it; the day we get to try to determine what gender offspring is.
Since this will be our first attempt at determining the gender of offspring, Monica invited her mom along just in case offspring cooperated with us. Offspring was very accommodating, bordering on exhibitionist. OK. You ready?
We’re going to have a boy! Here are a number of pictures for you, the last one will embarass offspring for the rest of his life.

Curled Up In a Ball
Julie came for a visit this weeke壯陽藥
nd so she and Monica and I all tromped over to the clinic to take a look at our offspring.
Offspring wasn’t very cooperative and was curled up in a ball on one side. While we could still make out the head, body, arms, and legs, everything was a big jumbled mess with feet over the baby’s head and arms practically everywhere. We can only hope this child will be more cooperative on Monday when we’re supposed to find out the sex of the baby. -
Baby Needs Earplugs
Monica had a busy day in clinic today and didn’t get to eat much which made her feel light-headed. She didn’t want to drive home from the clinic until she felt better so she paid the baby a visit via ultrasound. I think the baby has its fingers in its ears in the second picture.
