  • Photos are on the move

Once again, my photo gallery is moving; this time it is moving to an entirely new domain, http://www.cagriffinphotography.com/ which should be the permanent home for all of my pictures. The home page for the new site is here and the Gallery for the new site is here. For your convenience, I have migrated your user accounts to the new Gallery.

The new site offers a higher level of granular security which will allow me to set up personal and family photo albums that are only viewable by myself, my client, and the indiviuals the client requests permissions for. The new site also offers a number os new features and feature enhancements. One new feature I hope you will like is the ability to send a picture from the site as a greeting card via email. The site also offers a shopping cart, which is still in testing, that will allow you to add photos to you cart for either downloading or printing. If you have any feature requests or suggestions for improving the new site or new Gallery, please let me know.

  • Photo Gallery Move Completed!

Over the past several weeks, I have been working on moving my Photo Gallery site from my test server onto my production server – that move is now officially complete!

To move the gallery I had to take the test site down, install and configure the gallery software on the server, then I had to import the database and photo directories from the test site into the new site. After moving everything to the new server, I had to process all of the pictures again to re-register them in the database tables, a process that took over 22 hours by itself! The site move should be complete now and, hopefully, I won’t have to do anything nearly as drastic with the site for some time to come. You might want to update your link to the gallery if you had it bookmarked, there are also two ways to get to the gallery now: you can browse to it directly at https://andy.crazedtechs.com/gallery/main.php or you can click on the “Photo Gallery” button on the left there to view the gallery embedded in this site. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

It would also be a good idea to create a user account for the gallery site or this site (the two sites synchronize user accounts on a given schedule, so creating an account on one will eventually and automatically create an account on the other). A user account will have access to more albums and other resources than an unregistered user.
